Comprising 20 hours of education, training and program development, including up to 15 hours of face time with Dr. Applebaum, LFP teaches you the techniques of fitness for now and your future.  Some parts of LFP are conducted in seminar format while other parts take place in the gym.

By the end of LFP, you will have an appropriate fitness program for where you are currently in your life plus the skills and knowledge needed to properly modify your program as you age.  

LFP includes:

Nutrition Training:  you will develop a nutrition program to help you gain lean muscle mass and lose fat at will and learn how to modify the plan as you age.  Education in meal planning, meal composition and meal strategies is provided.  An additional option of specific menu planning (recipes, foods, etc.) is available. 

Physical Training:  at the core of LFP’s physical training program are strength and endurance training.  You will develop a strength training program that will last a lifetime and learn how to modify it as you age.  You will also develop an endurance training regimen and the skills to modify it.

Adult Sport-Specific Training Programs (Including Off-, Pre- and In- Season Training and Performance Nutrition Plans)

If you engage in a sport and desire to improve your performance, Dr. Applebaum will develop a program for you based on your goals and needs. 

Nutrition Training: different sports utilize different energy pathways.  A performance nutrition program appropriate to the type of sport in which you engage will be provided.  This program will include information about supplementation and modifications necessary for fat loss or lean muscle gain.  Education in meal planning, meal composition and meal strategies is provided.  An additional option of specific menu planning (recipes, foods, etc.) is available. 

Physical Training:  for most sports, there are Off-, Pre- and In- Seasons.  Depending on your sport, you will receive a training program appropriate to all of the seasons.  Each program includes relevant strength, endurance and flexibility training regimens.

There are a number of physiologic changes that our bodies go through as part of the aging process.

Fitness Programs for Cancer Survivors

These programs, comprising both training and nutrition plans, are designed to help the cancer patient recuperate and engage in a lifestyle of greater independence and functional capacity.

Fit to Grandparent tm

Youth Sport-Specific Training Programs (Including Off-, Pre- and In- Season Training and Performance Nutrition Plans)

If you are:

  • The parent of a youth athlete or

  • A youth athlete

who engages in a sport and desires to improve his/her performance, Dr. Applebaum will develop a program for him/her/you based on his/her/your goals and needs.

Nutrition Training:  different sports utilize different energy pathways.  A performance nutrition program appropriate to the age and the type of sport in which the youth athlete engages will be provided.  This program will include information about supplementation and modifications necessary for fat loss or lean muscle gain.  Education in meal planning, meal composition and meal strategies is provided.  An additional option of specific menu planning (recipes, foods, etc.) is available.

Physical Training:  there are unique challenges to training the youth athlete.  Unlike adults, youths are not fully grown and special attention must be paid to this developmental difference.  The same techniques used in adult training can have negative lifelong consequences to the youth athlete.

For most sports, there are Off-, Pre- and In- Seasons.  Depending on the sport, the youth athlete will receive a training program appropriate to all of the seasons.  Each program includes relevant strength, endurance and flexibility training regimens.

Personal Training with Dr. Applebaum

Dr. Applebaum provides personal training services.  However, it is his goal to make each client as self-sufficient as possible.  Therefore, he limits the number of sessions per trainee in a calendar year.  The purposes of the sessions are to teach trainees how to perform their routines safely and properly.

Trainees, if they are so inclined, are encouraged to find a workout partner.  They can be personally trained together by Dr. Applebaum.  If requested, Dr. Applebaum will endeavor to find clients training partners.

About Analysis Services

If you are currently engaged in a fitness program but are not achieving the results you intended, Dr. Applebaum offers program evaluation and analysis services.

Using proprietary models, Dr. Applebaum will review your program, determine its efficacy and make recommendations based upon the analysis results.
