Gallbladder Obstetric Biophysical Profile Testing Level II Early Ovarian Cancer Detection Gynecologic

 

GALLBLADDER

For eight hours prior to the examination you must eat no fat or fatty foods (this includes butter, whole milk, cream, cheese, etc.).

You can drink clear liquids (e.g., coffee without cream, tea without milk) and eat foods like Jell-O.

 

OBSTETRIC ULTRASOUNDS – ALL TYPES

Drink 32 oz. water one hour prior to study. Do not empty your bladder prior to the ultrasound examination.

 

LEVEL II ULTRASOUND

Generally performed between 18 and 22 weeks gestational age. As with all pregnancy scans, you must drink 32 oz. water one hour prior to study. Do not empty your bladder prior to the ultrasound examination.

 

BIOPHYSICAL PROFILE TESTING

Same preparation as any other Obstetric scan (32 oz. water) plus a sugar load one hour prior to exam (e.g., cookies, candy bar, etc.) UNLESS you are or may be diabetic. Then you should check with your physician. Do not empty your bladder prior to the ultrasound examination.

 

EARLY OVARIAN CANCER DETECTION

You must drink 32 oz. water one hour prior to study. Do not empty your bladder prior to the ultrasound examination.

 

GYNECOLOGIC ULTRASOUNDS – ALL TYPES

Drink 32 oz. water one hour prior to study. Do not empty your bladder prior to the ultrasound examination.
